The Naked Camper
The stripping process has begun on the 67' Wildcat camper. It's not the most fun I've had in my life, but it will be worth it in the long run. I started out by trying to find a good paint stripper. Well... that was a process (which is also why it's taken me so long to get this post up!). But, I finally found it!
This stuff is awesome, potent, but awesome! And if it's a hot, sunny day out, it works on contact! We had the camper stripped in about 2 hours. We'll need to go back and remove some of the areas that were really caked on, but other than that, I'm very happy with the results.
If you are stripping a project and are in need of a paint remover, I highly recommend this stuff! If you order from Home Depot, it comes in a case of 2 for $43. I accidentally ordered 2 (so I received 4 gallons).
One more round of paint remover and we should be ready for a spit and polish. Unfortunately, I'm waiting on the weather to break for the second round because I want to take the windows out to make sure all of the paint is removed.
I also still have to find the seals for the windows - which is another "fun" process. I may have to jerry-rig something (which I'm famous for).
Keep following me as the trailer comes together (or apart...)!
